Construction at last! Sunday, October 15, 1995, was a day of satisfaction and anticipation as ground was broken for the Evergreen Retirement Center in Osage, Iowa. Twenty-four apartments are now taking shape on Heritage Drive, adjacent to Faith Lutheran Home. Evergreen will be owned by the Martin Luther Home Society, an agency affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and recognized by the Lutheran Church in America and recognized by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Services will be provided in conjunction with Faith Lutheran Home. The Reverend Ron Beckman of the Martin Luther Home Society conducted the ground breaking ceremony. Several of the future residents of Evergreen participated in the service, and Steve Cooper, Mayor of Osage, brought greetings. Faith Lutheran Home Board of Directors and Aid Association for Lutherans, Branch 557, provided refreshements for those who viewed the construction site with excitement and curiosity. A number of individuals expressed interest in the ten remaining apartments. Planning and cooperation between Martin Luther Home Society, Faith Lutheran Home, First Citizens National Bank, and the City of Osage is now having "concrete" results! The mild autumn weather and the availability of the contractors have helped get the project off to a good start. Look for a framed-in structure before winter and a completed complex by June, 1996!
Martin Luther Home Society filed the original articles of incorporation August, 1992, with an amended change to the name of the corporation to Mosaic Senior Living in March, 2004 and another corporate name change to Mosaic in July, 2008. Faith Lutheran Home, Inc. then purchased the independent facility on June 30, 2014, to join Faith Lutheran Home and Faith Home Assisted Living as one campus offering three levels of care with all three buildings connected under one roof.
