Residents have a secure, accessible, and maintenance-free home in a complex that offers common space and basic services. These services include coordinated transportation, weekly housekeeping, laundry services, planned activities, and the main meal of the day.
Unlike independent living, assisted living facilities provide 24-hour supervision, personal assistance, and health-related services. Oftentimes, these facilities are licensed with regulations that vary from state to state. These same services can often be brought into a resident's home in independent living, if needed, and are arranged on an individual basis outside of the regular services offered.
Owning and maintaining your home can become an expensive and overwhelming task. Maintenance and repairs, lawn mowing, and the cleaning of an entire house are left behind when you move into Evergreen. Security and social interaction are other advantages, as well as being able to travel and not worry about finding someone to take care of your house and yard. Each apartment is fully sprinkled and all emergency systems are monitored 24-hours a day. Each person has a different reason, but the overall theme is less hassle and more time to enjoy life.
Common space refers to the areas at Evergreen that are available to all residents and their guests. These areas include a library, exercise room, guest apartment, dining room, lounge, and kitchen. Onsite, outdoor parking is available and outdoor gardens are a part of the common space. These areas provide a space for ongoing social and wellness activities, hobbies, and other creative ventures while fostering a sense of community.
Your apartment is your home; it is your space to decorate. All apartments are furnished with neutral window, wall, and floor coverings, as well as major appliances.
The monthly fee includes your rent, the main meal of the day, light housekeeping once a week, maintenance, laundry facilities, heat, garbage service, sewer and water. In addition, on-site storage, extended basic cable television, full use of the common space for your own special events, and in-house activities are included in the monthly fee. Garage space is offered for an additional charge, depending on availability.
Evegreen has what is called an "admission fee". An admission fee is a one-time fee that is collected for your apartment when you move in. This fee will vary depending on the size of the unit you select. A separate fee is paid if you choose to have a garage.
There are three reasons for collecting an admission fee:
It creates for security against damages;
It provides a security blanket for residents to fall back on if they become unable to pay the monthly fee; and
It generates funds for the operation of the complex. The funds collected from these fees are invested, and the interest income is used toward the daily operations of the facility.
The admissions fee is NOT spent on construction. Your admission fee is fully refundable when you leave.
Many times, several fee options are available to meet the different needs of residents. Some residents may choose to pay no admission fee resulting in a higher monthly fee.
Evergreen has a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments, varying from approximately 625 to 900 square feet. The size you choose will depend on your needs and the monthly fee you are prepared to pay. Each apartmet has a living room, dining space, ample closet space, and a kitchen furnished with a refrigerator/freezer, stove, garbage disposal, self-controlled thermostat and basic window coverings.
